Our family guided by our parents, Frank and Margaretha Prendergast and supported by adult children Joe and Molly are now fulfilling a 15 year dream, that is the creation of a viticulture based tourism destination in the South Burnett region of Southern Queensland. Our dream has been to create Prendergast's Vineyard Retreat as a very special food and wine getaway, suitable for couples, groups or families looking for a day visit, overnight stop over or special romantic weekend getaway, close to the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.
Our two signature restuarants, are under the direction of maitre de Joe Prendergast and his talented team of chefs. The Cooperage Restaurant located on our Dusty Hill Winery and Joe's Grand Dining Room located in Joe's Grand Hotel in nearby Goomeri are a testament to our committment to our visiting patrons. Many of our day visitors are now regular attendees at our themed food and wine dinners, including our renowned 'Winter Solstice' and 'D'vine Degustation' banquets. We provide a huge range of selected accommodation in the South Burnett, including luxury Bed and Breakfast cottages and lakeside homesteads on the Prendergast's Vineyard Retreat and a further selection of traditional hotel style accommodation at Joe's Grand Hotel Goomeri and luxury Bed and Breakfast at The Fork Inn B&B in nearby Goomeri.
Our Vineyard Retreat has it's own very romantic Wedding Chapel for your wedding and our restaurant 'The Cooperage' for your reception on the Estate Gardens, we would love to help you create your perfect Wedding day and Reception with accommodation and entertainment for up to ninety guests. Our Business Conference and Seminar venue can provide conference facilities for up to 50 people, with all meals, activities and live entertainment provided. We work with you to create a memorable experience for your management, staff and guests.
Prendergast's Vineyard Retreat and Dusty Hill are the perfect overnight or romantic weekend location to stay and enjoy the relaxed ambience of our vineyard village on the shores of Lake Barambah. We are the perfect weekend getaway for fine food and wine, especially if you are planning to visit and drive the South Burnett Food & Wine Trail which runs from Nanango at the southern end of the South Burnett's designated wine region through to Moffatdale at the northern end. The South Burnett Wine Trail (or Barambah Wine Trail) is 200km from Brisbane, 150km from Toowoomba, 175km from Noosa and 145km from Maryborough. Prendergast's Vineyard Retreat is fast becoming known as a destination for food and wine lovers, tourists and local residents who are developing a taste for our wines and hospitality. Our closest towns are Murgon and Goomeri with Kingaroy nearby.
